We are pleased to invite you to our 5th annual Computing for the Social Good in Education (CSG-Ed) in-person event. This free, SIGCAS-sponsored event will take place Wednesday March 15, 2023, from 1:00-5:00 pm, as an affiliated SIGCSE Technical Symposium event.
For this year’s CSG-Ed program, we come together as a community to discuss ways in which we can more directly and routinely support the development of CSG-Ed practitioners. Through SIGCAS, we plan on launching mentoring initiatives and activities to support both current practitioners as well as get newly interested colleagues started.
At this event we plan on discovering which types of mentoring this community believes will be most effective. Furthermore, we hope to be able to pair newer practitioners with more seasoned practitioners to facilitate one-on-one mentoring.
Over the past 5 years, CSG-Ed has grown through the passionate drive of our members, who have generally been introduced to the CSG-Ed community of like-minded individuals through attending a conference presentation, reading a paper, or attending training. After the synergistic energy of such community events, many return home to re-invision their own classrooms and institutions with a CSG-focus in isolation.
We are looking towards the community to assist in determining what these mentoring initiatives will be, who will lead them and how they will be sustained into the future. Please bring your enthusiasm, ideas, and energy.

While this SIGCAS-sponsored event is free, attendees must be registered for the Technical Symposium.
